For you, your loved ones,
your community and for everyone.

COVID-19 vaccines help protect you, your loved ones, and your community
— they also help protect society as a whole.

Dear Residents of Setagaya Ward,

Rakuten Group, Inc. is providing in-house vaccinations with the aim of helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 and encourage the resumption of economic activities by creating a safe environment where people can receive vaccinations quickly and safely. This in-house vaccination is being conducted under government guidelines for in-house vaccination and to provide an opportunity for vaccination to neighboring residents and businesses that have difficulties in conducting their own in-house vaccination programs in mind.

The vaccination supply is adjusted and determined based on the number of vaccinations conducted under the in-house vaccination. We have been able to conduct in-house vaccination efficiently on a large scale without any losses; Vaccines for in-house vaccination is supplied weekly based on vaccinations conducted and our vaccination slots are added accordingly.

We have a good prospect for vaccination supply to conduct in-house vaccination for essential workers of Setagaya Ward and Residents of Setagaya with the coordination and support of Setagaya Ward. Please note that the Pfizer Vaccine is used for large-scale vaccination led by municipalities and the Moderna Vaccine is used for in-house vaccinations. These vaccines are not interchangeable and Rakuten’s in-house vaccination uses Moderna Vaccine. If you receive the Pfizer Vaccine during your first vaccination, you cannot receive the Moderna Vaccine for your second one.

A company who wishes to conduct in-house vaccination needs to secure necessary resources such as partnering with a medical institution, securing a venue and organizing manpower required to deliver 2 doses of vaccination to over 1000 people. Since in-house vaccination provides opportunities for people including neighboring residents and affiliated companies to be vaccinated and reduces workloads for the vaccination in the area, governments call for cooperation to implement in-house vaccination have been made.

This in-house vaccination is conducted within the municipal government’s vaccination plan. Under this program, vaccination supplies are determined based upon size of the venue, number of employees and medical institution involved and expected demand for the in-house vaccination and the supply is approved by the government. Therefore, the in-house vaccination is conducted under limited supply and resources. Nonetheless will make every effort to ensure that everyone who wishes to be vaccinated receive the vaccination as soon as possible and thus, benefit society.
